THE IMPACT OF LEADERSHIP ON TEAM PERFORMANCE
This study examines the impact of leadership on team performance. Objectives include: (1) evaluating the effectiveness of various leadership styles in enhancing team performance, (2) analyzing the relationship between leadership and team dynamics, and (3) identifying key practices that boost team performance. A survey design is employed to gather data from a broad population. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 330 is derived, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The case study focuses on the retail sector in Lagos, Nigeria, where team performance is crucial. The reliability coefficient score is 0.86, indicating high reliability. Findings show that transformational and servant leadership styles are particularly effective in enhancing team performance, promoting team cohesion and productivity. Recommendations include developing leadership programs that focus on transformational and servant leadership skills to improve team performance.
